Accessibility Statement

Everyone should be able to find a provider, book a visit and reach us without barriers. This page explains what we do to make our website and our office accessible, and how to tell us when something isn't working.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, and to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act. Accessibility is reviewed whenever we add a page or feature, and the whole site is audited at least once a year.

What we've done on the website

  • Every page works with a keyboard alone. Links, buttons and form fields can be reached with Tab and activated with Enter or Space, and the focused element is always visible.
  • Headings, landmarks and lists are coded so screen readers can navigate by structure, and every form field has a visible label.
  • Text and background colors meet at least a 4.5:1 contrast ratio, and color is never the only way information is shown.
  • Text can be resized to 200% and pages reflow to a phone-width screen without losing content or needing horizontal scrolling.
  • Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Nothing flashes, auto-plays or moves without a way to stop it, and there are no time limits on forms.
  • Icon-only controls have accessible names, and link text describes where the link goes.

Known limitations

Some content is outside our direct control or still being improved. We are working on the following and will update this page as they are fixed:

  • The patient portal is provided by [PORTAL VENDOR]. We have asked for their accessibility conformance report and will link it here. If you have difficulty with the portal, call us and we will complete the task with you by phone.
  • Downloadable PDF forms may not be fully tagged for screen readers. Any form can be completed over the phone or in person instead, and accessible versions are available on request.
  • The embedded map relies on a third-party service. Written directions and transit information are provided alongside it on the contact page.

Accessibility at our office

  • Step-free entrance, automatic doors and an elevator to Suite [NUMBER]; accessible parking spaces by the entrance.
  • Accessible restrooms, height-adjustable exam tables and a wheelchair-accessible scale.
  • Qualified sign language interpreters and spoken-language interpreters at no cost to you. Please tell us when you book so we can arrange it.
  • Written materials in large print, and forms read aloud or completed with staff assistance on request.
  • Service animals are welcome throughout the office.
  • Extra time or a quiet waiting area can be arranged for patients who need it. Just ask when scheduling.

Feedback and alternatives

If you encounter a barrier on this website or in our office, or need information in a different format, please let us know. We take accessibility feedback seriously and aim to respond within five business days.

Technical details

This site is built with standard HTML, CSS and JavaScript and is designed to work with the current and previous major versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge, and with screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack. It does not require JavaScript to read content or to call us. Accessibility is tested with automated tools, manual keyboard and screen reader checks, and feedback from patients.
